About Hope

Hello and welcome. My name is Hope and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I am so glad you are here. I am a foodie, plant-enthusiast, and devoted therapist. In my free time you will find me gardening, cooking, reading, taking photos on my film cameras, and in the outdoors of the stunning PNW landscape.

When talking about my role as a therapist, I love to use the metaphor of walking alongside you as we connect the dots to your constellation of self trust together. My expertise and ability to guide you on this journey lays on the foundation of my experience and training. Since 2015, I have been working with children, teens, and adults in a variety of mental health settings including: residential assisted living, inpatient psychiatric mental health, in-home skill teaching for children with developmental disabilities, school-based community mental health, and private practice.

Now, clients I often work with are teens (14+) and their caregivers, young adults, and midlife adults who are looking for radical change in their life. These shifts they are looking for are most often related anxiety, perfectionism, trauma, queer identities, grief, body image, or disordered eating concerns. I firmly believe we can't shame ourselves into meaningful change. That's why compassion is at the center of my work to connect you to your inner wisdom and who you are rather than who you were told you “should be.”

Working with Hope

I see therapy as a powerful and dynamic process can support meaningful change by unveiling parts within you that may be hidden. My style as a therapist can be described as authentic, compassionate, collaborative, direct, and relational. You can expect me to be both real with you and deeply caring in my approach. You will see me invite in some humor and some swearing into sessions, inviting you to also show up as your authentic self. This includes letting me know when I’m not getting it right! Your collaboration and consent is essential in this work.

I utilize relational, psychodynamic, and compassion-focused approaches in my work and often integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), Action and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) interventions. I deeply value holding all of the parts, layers, and intersections of your experiences. This means when I think about the change you’re seeking, I also think about the systems we are a part of and how those are contributing to your constellation we are piecing together. Working from Health At Every Size® anti-racist, body justice, anti-capitalistic frameworks, we will discuss privileges and potential biases throughout our work together. I am always learning and expanding in my own anti-oppression work.

Let’s come back to that metaphor of walking alongside each other on your journey to self trust. I believe that we are in it together. As we walk together, we are connecting the dots, grappling with your experiences, honoring all your parts, and fostering sustained and meaningful change. We are staying curious, compassionate, and holding all the complexity.
